On August 22, 2013, Tigard’s River Terrace Stakeholder Working Group voted to shift the location of the proposed commercial center.

Tigard staff presented two options for the configuration of the commercial zone in River Terrace.  The two options were developed in response to last spring’s discussions of zoning and land use issues in the River Terrace area.

  • Option 1 kept the commercial area internal to the new development, and
  • Option 2 stretched the location to Roy Rogers Rd.

Committee members voted unanimously to shift the location towards Roy Rogers Rd. A committee member noted, “Choosing the layout of the commercial center and deciding whether it borders Roy Rogers Road is an important step, because higher visibility can attract higher quality tenants.”
