In August 2013, a draft of the region’s Active Transportation Plan (ATP) was released. This plan lists the River Terrace Trail in Tigard as a future off-street facility.

The Plan will make it easier to walk, ride a bike or take public transportation to your destination. The ATP provides vision, policies and actions the region can to take to increase active transportation.

According to the plan, “A vision for the future that includes active transportation as a real transportation option helps us achieve our shared values – clean air and water, vibrant communities, transportation choices for everyone, equity, economic prosperity and addressing climate change.”

The plan will continue to be refined with input from jurisdictions, agencies and stakeholders until it is proposed for adoption as a component of the Regional Transportation Plan in July 2014.
