Tigard to Hold River Terrace Community Meeting

The City of Tigard will host a third community meeting on River Terrace on December 10, 2013. The meeting will be held at the Tigard Public Library Community Room, and will focus on plans for future development.

The River Terrace Community Plan project is about midway through the planning process for housing, parks, utilities, and more. Everyone is invited to come learn more about what the city’s completed, what we’re working on now, and what to expect in the future. There will be opportunities for participants to ask questions or to share thoughts and concerns.

This is an important moment in the planning for River Terrace, as noted by Project Manager Susan Shanks: “The project is in a very exciting phase. Many of the details related to how utilities will be brought to this area are coming together. This is critical to the success of new development in River Terrace.”

There will be a brief presentation at 5:45 followed by an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. For more information on the River Terrace planning process please visit:

River Terrace was annexed to Tigard in 2012, and is located on the western edge of the city. A major portion of new development will be dedicated to housing, and will offer a range of options for future residents. The area will also include a commercial area for shopping and dining, as well as new parks and trails.
