As we plan Tigard’s newest neighborhood, River Terrace, our neighbors to the north are doing their own planning. The City of Beaverton is developing a Plan for South Cooper Mountain. These two neighborhoods will share transportation and trails systems as well as sewer facilities. It is in the interest of both cities to assure that they work together to manage stormwater and collaborate on commercial area development and road improvements. In order to facilitate this collaboration, the cities met for a joint council discussion.

The mood of the meeting was congenial and collaborative. City councilors agreed that working together would produce the best results for both cities, and councilors gave their approval of a joint enterprise zone, which would allow the cities to market business and employment opportunities jointly.
