The City of Tigard Transportation System Master Plan Addendum was originally posted in April. The Addendum is now available for comment until June 16.

There were several key content revisions, including the following items:

  • The River Terrace Boulevard Design Concept has been updated based on stakeholder input from the April 30 design workshop. The narrative accompanying the design concept has also been updated to reflect the need for design flexibility along the entire alignment (something a single illustration doesn’t show well) to address stream crossings and changes in topography and land uses, amongst other things.
  • A traffic signal is now proposed, when warranted, at the intersection of Scholls Ferry Road and the new River Terrace Boulevard. This change is reflected in several locations throughout the document since the signal is important for pedestrian/bicycle mobility as well as motor vehicle operations.
  • Cost estimates have been added and updated, including a more realistic estimate for the River Terrace Boulevard and the adjacent trail, which was previously included in the parks cost estimate.
  • Information about infrastructure gaps in the pedestrian and bicycle networks have also been added.

Public Comment Period (June 2 – 16)

The public comment period for the Transportation System Master Plan Addendum is now open. Written comments will be accepted from June 2 to June 16. The comments will be shared with City Council at a briefing on June 17. The purpose of this briefing is two-fold: (1) brief Council on the parks and transportation master plan addenda for River Terrace, and (2) review the city’s parks and transportation funds and discuss possible financing strategies for each infrastructure system.

Please address comments to Susan Shanks; susans@tigard-or.gov; City of Tigard Permit Center; 13125 SW Hall Blvd.; Tigard, OR 97223. Comments are due on June 16 at 5:00 p.m. PST.
