A recent Tigard Times article focuses on development in River Terrace. The city’s newest neighborhood is expected to break ground later this summer.

“There are pending applications for 215 new homes to the west of Roy Rogers, and 350 to the east,” said Susan Shanks, a senior planner working on the River Terrace area.

Shanks said that the northernmost section of Roy Rogers Road will likely be developed first, with construction moving south after that.

“What people will see initially are not homes,” she said. “Those won’t be built until next spring.”

The construction will largely focus on underground work at first, Shanks said, followed by roadwork.

“It’ll look like they are moving dirt around and digging trenches,” she said. “It’s going to look odd, because they will be putting in trenches and pipes, then the roads that will be there for several months before any above-ground construction occurs.”
