A recent OregonLive article focuses on the city’s recent park purchase near River Terrace.

The 28.4-acre property is located on the west side of Roy Rogers Road, where it intersects with Beef Bend Road. It lies directly north of the Tualatin River Wildlife Refuge. The City Council authorized the action in July, and the purchase closed in mid-September at a price of $1.4 million.

The article reports:

“More than a few commercial marijuana growers approached Bill Kenny in recent months, all wanting to buy his 28-acre wholesale nursery operation just west of Tigard.

And why wouldn’t they? The property, with scores of greenhouses, easy access to a busy roadway and its own water right to the adjacent Tualatin River, is a growers’ dream.”
